Katherine, “Kat” is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CSW) with a passion for supporting individuals through some of life’s most challenging times. With a background in substance abuse treatment and a growing interest in grief therapy, she is dedicated to helping clients navigate their struggles and find paths to healing and resilience.
Kat holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Western Kentucky University and is currently a Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky. Her professional journey has equipped her with extensive experience in substance abuse treatment, where she has worked with individuals facing addiction and its related challenges. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in a combination of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, tailored to support each client’s unique needs and goals. Kat is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
In her work with individuals struggling with substance abuse, she focuses on providing compassionate, non-judgmental support while guiding clients through their recovery journey. My goal is to help clients develop effective coping strategies, rebuild their lives, and achieve lasting sobriety. I work collaboratively with clients to create personalized treatment plans that address both the psychological and emotional aspects of addiction. In addition, Kat has become deeply interested in training and providing grief therapy. She understands that grieving the loss of a loved one, pet, or other lifestyle grief incident can be an incredibly complex and personal experience. Her approach to grief therapy involves creating a supportive space where clients can process their emotions, find meaning in their experiences, and work towards healing. She uses a range of therapeutic techniques to help individuals cope with loss, manage their grief, and eventually find a sense of peace.
Lastly, Kat believes in the power of empathy and understanding to facilitate healing. Whether working with clients facing addiction or those navigating the difficult process of grief, her aim is to provide a safe, supportive environment where individuals feel heard and valued. Each person’s journey is unique, and I am here to offer guidance and support tailored to your specific needs.
