I created BPC because I was frustrated having 100+ children on my caseload making me ineffective as a therapist and being told I could not get a raise to $38k a year because that was more than my supervisor made.  I chose Munfordville because I grew up in Hart County, knew the needs of the area and more importantly I knew where services were lacking.  My goal was and continues to be to meet with key members of a small community to determine their needs and develop services to meet those needs.  That started with my first rule one day one which was that no one will be turned away despite inability to pay.  This resulted in 6 of my first 11 clients being pro bono.  This also spread word about BPC quickly because the clients were grateful to have a provider accept them.  I started getting too many referrals and started to slowly hire.  My goal was to fill up the space we were renting, total staff goal was two therapists and one TCM.  Next step was to do my best in creating a harmonious workplace and treating people with kindness and understanding.  I also attempted to create positions that I would have wanted to have.  Sticking to these basic philosophies BPC grew quickly and continues to do so.
