Vanessa is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate. Vanessa graduated Cum Laude from Lindsey Wilson College with a Master’s in Education in Counseling and Human Development. Vanessa serves as a school based and clinic based counselor for the Adair County location. Vanessa has worked in different therapeutic settings including: psychiatric residential treatment facilities for adolescent males and females, and community mental health services that focus on adults and children with severe mental health issues and substance abuse issues. Vanessa is currently working towards receiving her licensure in Clinical and Alcohol Drug Counseling. She is a certified DUI Instructor and offers DUI classes in Adair County. She currently runs a Substance Abuse Program that focuses on the supporting individuals as they embark on path to sobriety through reducing criminal thinking, being held accountable, and learning to maintain healthy boundaries while learning about specific addictions. Vanessa uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Existentialism in addition to others depending on the needs of the individuals she serves. Vanessa holds the belief that despite mistakes made and the severity, all people deserve a chance to change and be forgiven, once they work on themselves and accept responsibilities for their actions.
