I received a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy. I served as the President on the Kentucky Mental Health Counselor’s Association (South Central Chapter). I am certified through the Marriage and Family board of Kentucky. I have had a diverse career helping teens, parents, couples and families. I have experience working in a psychiatric residential treatment facility as a clinical director for adolescent males and females with a wide range of mental health disorders. I specialize in depression, anxiety, behavioral, and dysfunctions in communications with families and couples. I work from the perspective that the way individuals perceive a situation is more closely connected to their reaction than the situation itself. With this perspective, I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy to help people change their unhelpful thinking and behavior that lead to enduring improvement in their mood and functioning. This is one of the most empirically researched methods for psychotherapy.
